Highly Figured Claro Walnut Gun Stock Blank: 2 11/16" thick x 4" to 7" wide x 20" length. Spectacular figure and color stripe throughout this claro walnut blank. The template pictures were shot dry with no finish applied; the dampened pictures were taken using alcohol. This is the first time we have seen a shade of green in a claro blank, and it only appears on one side. Hard to say if it will remain this color, or change with UV exposure over time. Either way it is an extraordinary piece of wood. Air dried 5 years and it's 100% clear. On a scale of 1 to 5 in grading claro walnut for density, 5 rating the most dense, this blank rates 3 1/2.
