California Sierra Madrone Slab - Dry: 1 3/4" to 2" Thickness x 39" to 31 3/4" to 39" Wide x 8' 3" Long. California Sierra Madrone (Arbutus mensiesii) also referred to as Madrono. The tree grows in the sierra mountain range of northern California, as well as the coastal range of the Pacific Northwest as far north as British Columbia. The wood is very dense, has excellent machining properties and is very similar in appearance to eastern cherry. This slab has been air dried for over 4 years and has been machined flat on both sides. The slab measures 8' 7" at it's longest and 8' 3" on the short edge. We dampened the slab to display the spectacular color found throughout the piece. Price: $950.
